The founder
Kadjijatou, “Maman Noor”

Identity & passion. Universally and affectionately known as “Maman Noor” in her community, Kadjijatou is the culinary soul and founder of Noor Kitchen. Her passion for cooking goes back to her childhood in Togo, cradled by the crackle of cooking pots, the careful selection of local grains and the ancestral mastery of spice blends.
The turning point in the USA. Once settled in the United States, she faced a reality shared by the whole diaspora: culinary homesickness, and how hard it is to find authentic Togolese staples that are ready to use and of impeccable quality. Between the distance from home and the demands of a fast-paced American life, cooking Togolese heritage had become an uphill battle.
The Noor Kitchen mission. To import, preserve and offer the pure authenticity of the Togolese soil to the community in the United States — bringing comfort, the warmth of home and the exact taste of childhood into every Togolese and West African household in America.
A commitment to quality. Meticulously selected raw ingredients and a strict artisanal process, with no needless chemical additives.
